The Facemelter: Zolle (Italy), Memory Of Elephants, Black Shape

Chaos Theory presents a night of incredible mathy punky jazzy noisey goodness in the August edition of their monthly night, brought to your ears from the recesses of Italy, Bristol and London

—————
Zolle

A manic, hard rock, math punk duo who create pristinely jarring beauty using copper drums and an aluminium guitar, and have just released their third album ‘Infesta’, recorded by Giulio Ragno Favero (Zu, Il Teatro degli Orrori, OvO, MoRkObOt, One Dimensional Man).

Sharing members with MoRkObOt, they’ve played alongside legends such as Obake, Zeus, Luminous Bodies, Casual Nun, Khünnt and Silent Front.

—————
Memory Of Elephants

A trio from Bristol who are insanely brilliant at making technically perfect math rock sound like noise and making noise rock sound like progressive perfection.

They absolutely killed it at The Facemelter last year and we can not wait to have them back!

—————
Black Shape

An awesome noise duo who have already kicked ass at The Windmill in Brixton. Born in the swamp three years ago, they’ve been trying to wade their way out ever since.

They’re recording a new EP with Wayne Adams at Bear Bites Horse Studio and will be launching it at The Facemelter!

Expect more scuzzy, sludgey noisey riffs.

The Jazz Market: MoRkObOt, Shitwife, Warren Schoenbright

Chaos Theory presents a night of heavy noise, math metal, avant-jazz, electronica, hardcore and all round incredible musicianship!

—————
MoRkObOt

A completely perplexing trio from Italy, who’ve been going for twelve years. Their insane manic sounds, coupled with supremely tight musicianship, makes sure that audiences are blasted with an experience unlike any other.

Their dual-bass low-end sound shakes off any notion of sterile technicality, yet they still manage to deliver a perfect sound of interlocking slides, slams and slippery beats.

Listen to their latest album ‘GoRgO’ and come to witness this tornado of malicious psychedelia.

“Somewhere in the vortex of molten bass and schizophrenic time-signatures there’s a solid groove at play.” – The Skinny

“An effervescent cocktail of metal heaviosity, befuddling complexity and giddy punk intensity.” – Echoes And Dust

—————
Sh*twife

One of the most technically proficient bands ever to grace the stink of London. With the immense electronic prowess of producer Wayne Adams (Bear Bites Horse Studio, Death Pedals) and the driving intricate beats of Henri Grimes, one of the best drummers we’ve ever witnessed, Sh*twife build up noisey hardcore sounds that are awesome to dance to and awesome to stand there slack-jawwed and watch.

We’ve followed them around DIY parties in London for ages, and can’t wait to hear more bangers by these understated audionuts.

“The reward here – and Sh*twife’s ultimate sell – is hearing rock instrumentation grind against synthetic noises in a sweaty, twisted duel.” – Resident Advisor

“A dark visceral sound that gathers together the rage of Atari Teenage Riot, and the ferocity of Motorhead all fed through a laptop stuck on the ‘Gabba’ setting.” – Louder Than War Magazine

—————
Warren Schoenbright

A three piece experimental noise band who’ve been skulking through London’s murky underbelly for several years.

The release of their fifth EP ‘Subtropical’, which is the band’s first on Hominid Sounds, charts a new, heavier and more dense sonic direction. The introduction of spoken word offers a non linear narrative to the textural strata created by electronic samples, bass guitar and live drums. ‘Subtropical’ beckons one into a dark, distorted, swarming nowhere place.

“A deeply textural live experience” – Ave Noctum

“A beautifully minimalist atmosphere through their use of delicate electronics that were punctuated with bursts of fury.” – UK Scumscene

Start: June 9, 2017 7:30 pm
End: June 9, 2017 11:00 pm
Venue: The Black Heart

The Facemelter: Space Witch (album launch), Prisa Mata, Sergeant Thunderhoof

Chaos Theory presents a night of soaring psychedelia and spleen-pulverising doom, as Space Witch launch their long-awaited album ‘Arcanum’.

—————————
Space Witch

The psychedelic doom wizards are back from Stoke-on-Trent with a brand new album!

Experience more cosmic journeys through the void, as Space Witch take you through waves of doom, psychedelia, sludge and prog rock, bringing new strings to their bow with their latest sounds from their new LP.

‘Arcanum’ will be out via HeviSike Records this year.

“Like taking a magic carpet ride through Hades while high on acid.” – CVLT Nation

“One of the band’s finest and suffocating compositions to date.” – The Sludgelord

—————————
Prisa Mata

A sledgehammer of noise, sludge, stoner rock and psych. We’ve felt the full force of this trio when we saw them supporting a bunch of legends from the Chaos Theory stage (GHOLD, Nøught and HAG) at Cosmic Carnage’s night at The Crypt, and have been hooked on their heavy grooves ever since.

“Groove, pounding drums and echoing screams in the vein of a Conan-tinged-Weedeater.” – More Fuzz

—————————
Sergeant Thunderhoof

Formed in late 2013, the Somerset-based riffmongers have played at countless gigs around the UK after their debut EP ‘Zigurat’ was really well received by fans of stoner rock and psychedelia all over.

Having played with Orange Goblin, Raging Speedhorn, Black Spiders, Elder, Gonga, Mos Generator, Desert Storm and many more, their infectious riffs, laced with psych and doom, have continues to capture the souls of all manner of rock fans.

Their excellent album ‘Ride The Hoof’ caught the attention of Metal Hammer and Terrorizer Magazines, and now they’re working on a follow up, due to be released later his year.
