Cans Lyf and Folklore cordially invite you to Punk in the Dark! A night of London’s best high energy experimental punk!
September 26, 2019
This elusive act is once again gracing London with their post-punk brutalism. Listen out for their darkwave throwbacks mashed with Samuel T Herring and Edwyn Collins’ lyrical love child – this is music your mum warned you about.
Ghostly, evocative and ethereal – multi-talented, multi-instrumentalists, Mirna Ray, have been gracing the dark corners of London best venues. Their new untitled EP is a wanderlust of darkwave punk that will set your soul on fire.
Kopper are London’s newest post-punk absurdist insurgents. This three-piece are set on bringing something louder, fiercer and more anthemic to the streets of London, with the release of their debut EP “Fading Fires” – a rowdy and nightmarish opedius tale for all oddballs, rejects and provocateurs.
South London quartet Mummy are kicking in the UK scene right now off the back of two standout EPs of pure , undeniably addictive hooks, heavy, stoner grunge. Their blistering, heavy shows have earned the band rave reviews and they will be headlining at Folklore for Punk in the Dark.

After touring extensively in the states, Out of System transfer is on their first European tour in April/May, with Qfolk joining for the UK leg
Carrying the banner of righteous weirdness, here comes Out of System Transfer, the city’s much-needed gonzo anti-folk punk rock radical leftist hootenanny. Their funny and fierce tunes blend the rage of Reagan-era punks like Dead Kennedys and Mojo Nixon with the rootsy feel and harmonies of acts like the Carter Family and Pete Seeger. With unparalleled energy, uncompromising radical politics, and an insatiable thirst for fun, these anarchofolk weirdos share one primary main objective: to rock your entire ass off.
Qfolk is possibly the loudest one human folk punk act. For fans of FEELINGS, radical politics, breaking the binary and a complete lack of subtlety. Passionate folk punk with more emotions than you could ever ask for! Aesthetic: Britney Spears meets Tom Waits.
Chuck SJ is a Queer Folk Punk DIY Musician hailing from Brighton, UK. Although their roots lie in folk punk, Chuck’s guitar playing extends far beyond the contemporary and expected style of an acoustic guitarist.

Club Geoff presents a new night of experimental alternative sounds with The Infinite Three (hypnotic psychedelic post-punk cosmic idiocy from ex-members of Cindytalk and GOD), Nasty Little Lonely (industrial post punk noisy stuff from Bristol) and Electric Elizabeth (investigative sounds from metal buckets, field recordings and beyond).

Becoming///Animal (members of Zu/This Mortal Coil/Cindytalk), The Brain Center at Whipple’s, Mark Dicker
Chaos Theory proudly presents Becoming /// Animal, a new project by amazing collaborative duo Massimo Pupillo of Zu, and Gordon Sharp of Cindytalk and This Mortal Coil.
Their first album “A Distant Hand Lifted”, an intense, filtered orchestra that roars and hisses, becoming one with magnificent haunting vocals, has just been released by Trost Records.
The Brain Center at Whipple’s, an experimental semi-improvisational trio who use noise and electronics shamelessly. Last seen by us when they DJed at Mouse On The Keys, Mutiny on the Bounty and Strobes at Rich Mix last year.
Mark Dicker of Bruxa Maria and Palehorse, performing his solo project, rife with heavy electronic sounds and audio experimentation.

The Vagabonds 77
Formed in the summer of 2011, Vagabonds 77 is a 4 piece punk rock band based in Athens (Greece). Consisted by fellow individuals who feel the need to create music inspired from bad and good times, sober hard working days and drunk hard to remember nights, trying to stay alive and express through music in a dirty and impersonal city. Tuneful guitar riffs blended with sharp and sing-along vocals (mainly in English) consist a sound for people who seek redemption through punk rock like we do!
The band has released 2 full length albums, “Time Is Right” (2011) and “Our Sound Our Life…” (2015) (both completely independently) and in September of 2017 will release a 6 track LP.
The past 5 years the band has done many shows all over Greece achieving to build a very strong following, also made a very successful U.K. tour including an appearance in “Punks Against Cancer #2 Festival” in Derby.
Voodoo Healers is a Punk Rock n Roll /High Energy Rock ‘n’ Roll band from Thessaloniki (at least that’s the way that they describe their music). They begun in 2000 but it wasn’t until 2003 that they have started existing as a real band. With influences from bands like The Stooges, MC5, The Ramones, The Clash etc., they are probably the only Greek band that has a similar musical attitude to those referred.
They have released three albums “Living In A Dogville” (2006) “Dawn Of A Day” (2011) and “First You Dream After You Die” (2014) they have also participated in a tribute collection for the mighty Sky “Sunlight” Saxon covering his song “Out Of The Question”.
Voodoo Healers can also be considered as a travelling band with two major tours every year, across Greece and across the rest of the Europe! They have supported some great bands of the Rock ‘n’ Roll scene and they still remain “alive ‘n’ kickin’” ready to hit the road again and present their music to the world!
